Frame-Werx two-wheel drive chassis under a white 1985 Chevy extended cab pickup
Chevrolet C10 · Two-wheel drive
Modern ride quality for the classic C10.

The C10 is the classic truck people most want to drive every day, and its original frame is what stands in the way. Tired springs, vague steering and a chassis engineered for a 55 mph world leave even a beautifully restored C10 nervous and harsh at today’s highway speeds.

A Frame-Werx chassis trades all of that for independent front suspension, sway bars front and rear and a multi-link rear. The result is a C10 that steers with precision, stays flat through the corners and rides like a modern truck, while bolting to the factory body mounts so it looks exactly the way a C10 should.

One chassis, two-wheel or four-wheel drive

Here is what makes a Frame-Werx chassis different: the two-wheel-drive C10 chassis and our four-wheel-drive chassis are the same chassis. Same frame, same independent front suspension, same sway bars, same multi-link rear. A two-wheel-drive build simply leaves out the front differential.

That means every chassis you see on this site is the chassis that goes under a C10, and the same frame takes a front differential whenever a build calls for four-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.

What it does for a C10

Ride quality

Independent front suspension absorbs broken pavement and expansion joints instead of sending them into the cab.

Handling

Sway bars front and rear keep the truck flat and composed through corners, lane changes and freeway ramps.

Multi-link rear

Keeps the rear axle precisely located for a settled ride, with the strength to tow.

Stance

Drop spindles and adjustable upper control arms bring the C10 down to a low, aggressive stance without sacrificing ride quality.

Steering

Modern rack-and-pinion steering and a tighter turning radius make the truck easy to place in traffic and in a parking lot.

Brakes

Modern disc brakes at all four corners, with big-brake upgrades available.

Power

Built for modern GM V8 power, from a mild LS swap to a high-horsepower LT build.

Finish

Hot-dip galvanized, and it can be epoxy primed and painted black or any color over the galvanizing.

Our ’85 extended cab

Our own white ’85 extended cab rides on a two-wheel-drive Frame-Werx chassis. Its cab has been stretched, it sits low on black wheels, and underneath it is the same independent front suspension, sway bars and multi-link rear as every Frame-Werx build.

Questions C10 owners ask

Is the C10 chassis different from your four-wheel-drive chassis?

No. It is the same chassis. A two-wheel-drive build leaves out the front differential; everything else is identical.

Will it fit my 1967–1972 C10?

Yes. Frame-Werx builds chassis for C10 pickups from 1967 through 1987, and the chassis bolts to the factory body mounts.

Can I lower my C10 on it?

Yes. Drop spindles and adjustable upper control arms give a low stance while keeping the ride quality the chassis is built for.
